Eastogo Destination Guilin Guilin Private Tour

Guilin Private Tour

Guilin is one of China’s most poetic landscapes, where limestone peaks rise from winding rivers, mist drifts between mountains, and rice terraces follow the contours of ancient hillsides. For centuries, these scenes have inspired Chinese landscape paintings, yet there is something entirely different about experiencing them in person — watching the morning light settle over the Li River, cycling through quiet villages, or drifting between karst peaks on a bamboo raft.

An Eastogo Guilin Private Tour is designed to reveal the region beyond its famous scenery. Journey along the Li River towards Yangshuo, where dramatic limestone formations give way to a gentler countryside of bamboo groves, rice paddies, and traditional villages. Explore the peaceful Yulong River by bamboo raft, cycle along rural paths, or take a more adventurous perspective on the landscape with hiking and Via Ferrata experiences among the karst cliffs.

Beyond the scenery, Guilin is a place of living traditions. Spend time with local families learning to prepare Guangxi oil tea, discover regional dishes such as bamboo rice and ciba, or meet local fishermen to understand the centuries-old practice of cormorant fishing and how life along the river has changed.

Further north, the Longji Rice Terraces reveal another side of Guangxi. Walk between the layered fields and hillside villages of the Zhuang and Yao communities, where traditional wooden houses, local customs, and agricultural life remain closely connected to the surrounding mountains.

With knowledgeable local guides, carefully selected riverside retreats, private transport, and the freedom to explore at your own pace, Eastogo creates private Guilin journeys that balance beautiful landscapes with meaningful cultural encounters. Whether your interests lie in photography, outdoor adventures, or simply slowing down in the countryside, we shape each journey around the places and experiences that matter most to you.

Best time to visit

August to April
Spring, Autumn, and Winter
8°C – 29°C

Guilin is warm, humid, and rainy, especially from spring to early summer. Avoid June and July if possible, as heavy rainfall often makes the Li River muddy and may affect cruises, bamboo rafting, and outdoor activities. Sun protection is important year-round, particularly on river and terrace routes.

Everything went very smoothly, and the itinerary was perfect! We were truly able to enjoy every single day. very special thank you to Carrick, our driver, who made our stay a truly unforgettable experience for our entire family. He was extremely professional and attentive; we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with him. We have been traveling across Oceania and Asia for nine months now; we’ve met many drivers along the way, but Carrick is by far the best! His car was also very comfortable! The organization was excellent from start to finish!

The guides were professional and flexible, taking us through rich culture and epic landscapes. They were very knowledgeable and accomodating, keen to deliver the best experience possible. We went to places only locals could find and stayed in lovely accomodation that suited well. This was my first trip to China and not only did they take the stress off, it was much better than anything I could have done myself. Highly recommend.

The experience was great from the start to the end. The organization was perfect! We had an itinerary before starting, but the agency was ready to change it if the weather condition were bad. Every night, we had information very detailed, for what we would visit the day after. During the they we had lot of time to explore the places and the driver was very helpful with everything. Most of all, flexibility was on point! And the landscapes were stunning!
